Formed in Spring 2009, the 1/3-acre University of Iowa Student Garden provides an educational model that addresses environmental, social, cultural, and economical issues that affect our contemporary food system.

The garden grows sustainable produce for the Iowa Memorial Union Food Pantry and Iowa City community.

The Student Garden is nestled off Hawkeye Park Road, across from the Hawkeye Recreation Fields. It is managed by the student organization Determined Gardeners Incorporating Radical Farming (DIRT).
