Black and gold NiteRide van

Changes to Nite Ride

Nite Ride — the university’s free late-night transportation service operated by Campus Safety — will move to two shuttle buses operating on fixed routes that will include the most frequently requested pick-up and drop-off locations on and near campus. The service will begin operating an hour earlier, running nightly from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m.

Student Mindfulness

Students are encouraged to sign-up for the Intro to Mindfulness Workshop series over winter break.

Mondays, December 22, 29, January 5, 12 at 12-1:15pm on Zoom

The workshop includes three components: regular attendance at the four-week workshop, ten minutes of meditation practice per day, and keeping up with reading from "The Mindful Twenty-Something" by Holly Rogers.

Paid Parental Leave

The University of Iowa now provides up to four weeks of paid parental leave to eligible employees.

The Iowa Paid Parental Leave (IPPL) program, effective July 1, 2025, gives employees who are eligible for the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) the opportunity to take time off to care for and bond with a new child without using sick or vacation leave.
